What is a DBS Background Check?

A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) background check is required to work with children or vulnerable groups in England and Wales. The check confirms whether you have any criminal history that would make you unsuitable for working with minors.

How do I complete my DBS Check?

If you're approved to work as a chess instructor with us, we will initiate the DBS application process. You will be asked to submit personal details and provide three forms of identification. These may include:

• A valid passport
• A recent utility bill or bank statement showing your current UK address
• A driver’s license
• Other official documents (e.g. birth certificate, government correspondence)

Only you and authorized system administrators have access to your data. We do not share your data with third parties.
